Best of November
I read Karls blog the best of November which was titled why wireless. Well i thought that the newsletter that she wrote for the paper was very good. I can also see why it was probably necessary to write. I'm sure that if some parents found out that the school was getting wireless internet and didn't really get an explantion than they could get a little upset.
I personally think that its great that the school got wireless internet, there is just so much information avalible and its easy to get to. Karl is right we need to prepare the world for how it is now, not how it was 20 or so years ago. I totally agree with Karl about the whole internet thing, i know that when I need to do a report or order something i want to go to the internet. I dont want to go to the library all day or sit on the phone for 1 hour on hold, why do that when we have the internet?

As i read Karls blog I'v understood that shes a very upfront person who feels free to speak her mind. I feel that this is a good thing, although there are probably some people who disagree with some things that she says. Karl is right "Technology is the underpinning of just about everything we do today."
We communicate on the internet, we email, my space, facebook, look up information, type papers, ex. I do also agree with her about the fact that teachers really should be technologically literate. I honestly believe that everyone should be to a certain extent. Technology is expanding major and fast and people need to get on track now because computers will probably someday control the world, and they are getting more complex everyday and the longer people wait the harder its going to be to learn.

more blogs..
Another site i visited abou teachers usings blogs in the classroom was http://www.soc.northwestern.edu/gradstudents/huffaker/papers/Huffaker2005_LetThemBlog.pdf
It is basically saying let the children and teachers use the blogs in classrooms as well as outside the classrooms. It is somewhat like a journal to the and helps them be more interactive with technology.

blogs...
I found a site on teachers using blogs and in their blogs they basically put information about classroom rules and what is expected from the studens. They aslo have assignments posted for students although not everyone has access to a computer most people do. It helps students and teachers interact outside of the classroom.

On her blog she also has all the classroom expectations as well as examples of her expectations for students. Mrs. Nelson also has Late and Missing work postings as well as homework and different research websites. I recieved this information from http://mnelson.blogspot.com
